Self-exclusion
was built for 1985.
It's 2026.

Before the Problem. Not After.

The gaming and prediction markets industries are under unprecedented regulatory pressure. 38 attorneys general. Congressional hearings. State criminal charges. And the industry keeps pointing to the same tool — a paper form invented for a casino floor four decades ago. We can do better.

The Problem

Self-exclusion was built for a world that no longer exists.

One physical location. One operator. A paper form. That was the model. Today's player is mobile, multi-platform, and active across apps that have no visibility into each other. The tool was never built for where the industry went — and every regulatory filing proves it.

01
Built for Bricks and Mortar
A mobile user playing across five apps simultaneously was never part of the model. The tool was never designed for where the industry went.
02
After the Problem. Not Before.
Self-exclusion requires a player to recognize a problem, admit it, and act. By the time that happens, the harm is already done. A cleanup tool — not a prevention tool.

Five principals. One framework. Built for the industry that exists today.

01
Under-25 Protection
Unified Behavioral Risk Model for Players Under 25
A standardized risk assessment applied across every operator with heightened thresholds for players under 25. Developing brains carry greater vulnerability to addictive behavior patterns. The standard must reflect that reality.
02
Identity Verification
Unified KYC Including Date of Birth and Full Social Security
Every operator in every vertical must verify the same baseline identity elements at onboarding. No partial verification. No workarounds. One standard across the entire ecosystem.
03
Cross-Platform Enforcement
Cross-Platform Harm Reduction by Default
Player protection must follow the user across every platform they touch — automatically, without requiring the user to opt in or self-identify. The system carries the burden. Not the player.
04
Early Intervention
Proactive Intervention Before Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion is the last resort — not the first line of defense. The industry must adopt tools that act on behavioral risk signals before a player reaches crisis. A guardrail before the cliff — not an ambulance at the bottom.
05
Chasing Detection
Unified Chasing Detection Standard Before Crisis
A behavioral standard that identifies chasing patterns — accelerating deposits, withdrawal cancellations, bet escalation after losses, session extension past loss thresholds — before a player reaches crisis. Detection at yellow. Intervention before the damage is done.

"No other form of gambling has pervaded our consciousness like sports wagering. Impressionable kids are constantly exposed — and the current tools were built for a different era."
